What doesn't kill you , makes you only stronger. And hand poked tattoo is the best example of that. In my recent fetish for hand poked tattoos, I learnt about the ancient and original traditions of tattooing and it's belief. I also realized the effects of a tattoo in the modern day. For me tattoos reflect a big part of who you are or what you have survived through. Hence , it's a sign of inspiration. Back in old days , it also showed a identity of the person in a tribe , and they were mainly made by hand. Hence , to really have a essence of a tattoo I had to do it Handpoked. I believe, Tattoos are the best gift , one can give to themselves. It's a thing that will prevail on your body untill the nature turns you into dust. It's a sign of commitment , you make to yourself. When I make a tattoo , it generally holds for me the story and memories, of the time it's etched. Tattoos are memoirs that reminds how strong you have been , and pains you have gone through while making it. It gives a confidence that if you could have prevailed through those stormy times and those sufferings, you can even make it through now. I guess this is my best realization about a tattoo. The hand poked form is more organic and traditional compared with the mechanical one. The pain of course depends on where you are inking it on. The traditional way of tribes to make this art form were Handpoked, and even in prisons , they used to make like that. In recent times, there has been a resurgent of hand poked tattoos. In India as there are very few places where you can find to do it in , traditional way. And hence , I didn't think even twice before going for it. The neck is a sensitive place , no doubt and you need a expert hand to ink it on you. It is painful, but as they say , in the end , it will only make you stronger , and Everytime you hit a hard wall , just look at your tattoo and remember How powerful you are !
