Spiti Ancient Hamlets trek.

Spiti is inhabited from the ancient times, even though if it got popular as a destination recently. Less people reach Spiti than ladakh due to its remote location, and lesser people dare to trek in the harsh cold desert here. The trek though helps people to see and savor spiti slowly, while most tourist take a Roadtrip and only see the trailer that this area has to offer.

You can expect from this trek to see the People and culture of spiti residing there for more than thousand of years in that harsh conditions. Chance encounters with snow leopard, ibex and such trans Himalayan wildlife. Most probably you won't find any other trekkers walking this trail as we hop from one hamlet to another till the height of 15700 feet as our top destination.

LANGZA VILLAGE WHERE TREK STARTS.

Treacherous DESCENDING IN THE TREK.

MILLION YEAR OLD FOSSILS TO BE FOUND ON THE TRAIL.

Grade - moderate due to very high altitude and harsh dry climate.

Day 1 - board bus in evening to manali from delhi today, after 6 in the evening.

Day 2 - Reach manali and acclamatisation. Small hiking and exploring manali in offbeat waterfall.

Day 3 - Manali to kaza, long journey on road today. Reach kaza by evening from manali by shared cab and acclamatisation.

Day 4 - Kaza exploring in morning and acclamatisation. Move to langza via kee monastery and stay. Overnight in langza village.


Day 5 - Langza to Hikkim to Komic by hiking. 7 kms hiking around 5 hours today.

Day 6 - Komic to Demul village crossing Demul pass at 16759 feet. Longest trail today. Overnight in Demul village.


Day 7 - Demul to Lalung village. Steep descend, Trek ends here. Car back to Kaza. Overnight in Kaza today.


Day 8 - Kaza to Manali drop by shared cab. Trek ends today. You can take overnight buses back to Delhi today. Or take one night extra to rest and go back to Delhi and reach on day 10.
