" What's the plan? " asked Emily.
" Nothing , what are your plans ? " I replied.
" Well heard about this waterfall inside the jungle , thinking of hiking there." Emily said looking at me and Ben.
Well , when she said HIKING , I was already in. Ben after thinking about few minutes , possibly due to his hangover from last night agreed to join up too. So decided , we started out within an hour. Lea also joined in.
Four of us from different countries and continents took upon us to hike for the day to the Mawyeang waterfall as it is locally called.
After taking up adequate water and food for the way , we drove to the base of the hike by scooter and then , henceforth walk of 5 kilometres each side. So me ( India) , Emily ( US) , Ben ( Australia) and Lea ( Germany) started out in great happy mood for our destination. The sun was scorching overhead as it was already afternoon , but the dense forest with its foilage and vegetation helped us with shade.
The trail was quiet well marked and we saw few other hikers on the way too , going up and down.
The best part of the trail is that it goes through the small stream flowing always by your side. One had to cross around 40 times through the stream to reach the waterfall, so it was best decision for us to wear clothes that could be easily wet and gave us no worries.
The trail is about 5 kms , only some parts are up and down, mostly flat and enjoyable highly due to the dense vegetation around it.
It took us 3 hours to reach the waterfall and 2 hours to come back. In between needless to say, we experienced one hour inside the waterfall, having the time of our life.
So if you are in Pai, this hike is definately recomended for experiencing a pie of happiness.

North Thailand is a treasure house of nature with dense tropical rain forest reinging most places and hills all around, makes a perfect region to hike around. Loads of hidden waterfalls to visit and discover , makes it a wonderful day hike activity to embark upon.
We started this hike from Pai, 122 kms from Chang Mai, which is the biggest city of north thailand. Pai is a small village surrounded by hills and forest and undoubtedly backpackers and travelers favourite destination , growing over years after years. With calm and slow paces lifestyle it is suited for wanderers and explorers. This hike to waterfall though is my favourite memort of Pai, but there are other activities too thar one can start upon here.

There are thousands of such hidden waterfall in the tropical rain forests of north thailand. Each of them beautiful in its own way, so if you dont want to take a bath in the crowded waterfalls elsewhere, hiking for this kind of waterfalls is worth it. Have to must say , this forests has all kind of trees, and you can feel being a Tarzan too , climbing and creeping through them.
Hopefully , some of you will be here soon and discover your own waterfall in the rain forests.

    Note from the Author,

" Travel made me rich and free. Magic and miracles are true , once you wander on the roads to places different and divine. I have collected so many thoughts and stories while being a Tour & Trek guide for last seven years. Sharing with you all, those memories and stories , and wishing you all , that someday you guys travel far and wide too. I am not a great writer , so ignore my grammar and spellings, read it with feelings, and you might just be affected with the wanderlust to hit the road"
