Himalayas have so many best kept secrets , and the enthralling treks that we take upon, are some of the best ways to discover them. Upon taking the crossover trek of Buran Ghati, from Pabbar valley to Kinnaur valley , one walks through some of the most lush green beds of meadows and flowers seen upon. And on this trail , the first campsite of Dayara meadows, is where I left my heart. I won't be exaggerating , if I say , this could be the prettiest campsite of this trek, and here is the experience of it. Like most trails in Himalayas, Buran Ghati is nested by high altitude nomads, the Gaddi shephards. And upon the blessing of such huge meadow , Dayara is perfect place for them to settle in for some months with their herd of sheeps in peak summer. The green potent grass helps the sheeps grow good thick coat of wool, and the nomadic shepherds also enjoy living here in Dayara in pleasant weather, while the whole world burns of summer. Enormous open views of landscape that seem ethereal make Dayara a must visit for all those who crave to see the most beautiful part of this world. I was stunned by this sight of endless meadows and yellow wild flowers that bloomed all throughout. Walking on this meadows from end to end , watching the shepherd dogs play , or the lazy outings of the mules and sheeps, are good enough a thing to do. Soul and hearts rest quietly at such places I tell you. Now if I post this somewhere stating its from Switzerland , I am pretty sure , people will be believing it. A hike of 6 kilometres from Janglik village , the base for Buran Ghati trek takes you around 5 hours to reach here. Its a walk filled with photogenic scenes and landscape wonders throughout. Even then reaching my tents was one of the most pleasurable thing to do. Sleeping outside the tent will be just as beautiful here , if not for the cold. However in the months of peak summer it is surely possible. A perfect pitching of tents amidst the yellow flowers make up for a must place to take a picture of course. A good part of the day can go visiting the friendly shepherds. Help them with their food , if you want to try some. Their amazing skills of hand, to make perfect Rotis round, is astonishing. I can not do it even in a kitchen full of equipments. The minimalist lifestyle with abundance of peace and happiness, can be seen here. All you can do is wonder , if you could live here like them in Dayara. May be someday I will definitely try out ! A day in Dayara will be one of the most beautiful memories from the Buran Ghati trek to take upon. Regardless to say , my whole group enjoyed their night here, smoking with shepherds , trying a little bit of food, and exchanging stories from each other's corner of the world. Happiness is automatic at such places of magnificence.
For those of you , who do not want to do this challenging trek, can hike up for just a day or two here in Dayara and refresh your souls and mind. Charges start from 2999 Inr for a one night two days excursion to Dayara . And for those who will go on to cross the Buran Pass , make sure to enjoy every minute of the great meadows of Dayara , while you can.
