Being Free : A reminder.

If someone asks me how does it feel to be free? . I generally smile and say amazing. You can feel the envy in a positive manner from the other person, but what you see is that they don't understand , if they are ready for the freedom yet.
Freedom requires a lot of sacrifices and hard choices. It's a balance of good and grief, like almost any other thing in life.
And as you keep on, time and again choose your own happiness , it sets you free from the illusions of conventional social or emotional liability.
You are capable of making your own mistake, however , time and again you will make the same mistakes. As mostly all beings that consider themselves free is also highly independent and jumps into the unknown trails unguided, making same mistakes over and over again.
Even then they would choose that , over a life of leading comfort through a well tested paths of ancient philosophies.
Free people also carry a lot of scars, from those mistakes made throughout time. Those scars are there for a reason, some hurt some don't anymore , yet they are and will always be there, to remind them what they have lived through. That moments they thought they can't take it anymore , almost killed them , yet those are exactly what made them who they are !
Free people look a lot selfish , due to their choice of self happiness over others. They know , happiness is never a commodity found outside in someone else , we are all , however small or big , in charge of our own happiness. And they will keep putting their self , before anyone. The day they don't do it , most probably freedom is lost.

Free people are strong yet require love and care. They can do things alone and will do , but still will crave for love and be accepted for what they truly are.
Free people are beyond the concept of shame and " what the world will think ".
They are not ashamed of who they are, of what interests them or indulges them. They will seek and do what brings them peace and happiness over any odds. They know their skin is their skin and their heart is their heart. They need to their soul. They will leave behind things that they don't want anymore , albeit letting go is tough , yet with every moment of cry and wail, they will. They will do what they feel meant to, they will be their own guide, slowly but surely they will live how they see life to be. They are free to chase purpose and then change it to something else. They know life is meant to change and so is it's purposes. They are adored by their own beautiful mess, curated by their own chaos and striking rainbows out of their own storm. They are humans after all. They fall but they will never stop to reach out for flying. They might be scared but they will still do it.
They might feel lost , broken or unsupported at times and that is why every once a while they need to be reminded of this. Because life gets so hard at times, makes us forget what we really are and what we really deserve.
